The emergence of identity involves analyzing the past, present, and future. Reflecting on firsthand experience, my work incorporates self-portraits by blending all three timeframes into one unified composition to create a comprehensive perspective to their interconnectedness.

The past, illustrated by my younger self discovering the world, is depicted with a more blurred quality to reflect the fragmented nature of memory. The current self is painted with precision to illustrate the concreteness of the present moment. To avoid a negative connotation with the unknown of the future, my work applies moss to express growth and renewal. Merging with the background to indicate that the present future is predicated on the basis of existing experience.
