In 2020, the world came to a standstill due to the pandemic. Everyday life was suddenly different, and many people felt a loss of control. During that time, my artworks explored the beauty of losing control. The artistic approach was it to paint first and to think later.

Aleksandra Ratkovic has been working on her „Untitled“ series from 2020 to 2023. The series explores abstract forms, a large color palette and creates high contrasts, aiming to achieve visual dynamism and depth in her paintings. Her fascination with optical illusions and spatial effects created through overlaps, shadows, and light adds complexity and challenges viewers‘ perceptions.
