about me
Aleksandra Ratkovic (born 1998, Luxembourg) is currently drawn to oil painting and experimenting with the possibilities of imitating reality. When choosing a medium, she values the working process due to the slow drying time of the paints, which allows more space for reflection. As references, she uses self-taken photographs of everyday moments.
Her works investigates personal histories that moved her during different phases of life. Therefore, key ideas often emerges from intuitive thoughts, developed through research and exchange with others. Looking back across her projects, she notices her desire to contribute to an open, respectful, and tolerant community as a returning aspect.
The intention behind her pieces is to create an emotional connection between the viewer and the artwork. Providing a space that reminds us of shared human experiences, encouraging empathy, and inviting meaningful dialogue beyond the canvas.
